Paris: Roundtable on Grid Infrastructure

On November 21st 2008, fifty‐four members of parliament, business leaders, civil servants, researchers and NGO representatives gathered in the French Ministry of Ecology and Energy on the Avenue de Ségur in Paris.
This meeting was funded by the European Climate Foundation, and was co-hosted by the governments of France and Egypt, as the Co-Chairs of the new Mediterranean Union. The participants discussed new long‐distance electricity connections for the Europe-Mediterranean region, which could help to accelerate the growth of renewable energy.
