Do you want to help legislators protect our planet? Then the e-Parliament may have a job for you!

Climate change is rapidly undermining basic living conditions on planet earth and the longer we wait to act, the more difficult and costly it will be to secure the future welfare of humankind.

There are plenty of solutions and readily available technologies to counter the ever accelerating climate changes we face. What is missing is the political will to take action and here legislators are among the key actors. The climate challenge is global in scope, and there is a need to create a critical mass of lawmakers from all continents and all parties, who understand the dangers, share a vision of a sustainable world, and are ready to take the lead in their national or regional parliaments.

The e-Parliament is a global forum, which engages national and regional legislators through polls and hearings to exchange policy ideas and to work together across borders on issues of common concern. Climate change and its consequences for biodiversity and ecosystems is one central area in our work, which will expand over the coming years.

Therefore, we need at least two new Programme Officers to plan and implement our growing activities on climate, energy and ecosystems. Responsibilities will include organising international parliamentary hearings, many of them in developing countries, and working with climate, energy or ecosystem policy experts to support parliamentary action. Excellent writing skills as well as confidence in contacting and dealing constantly with new people are important. Fluent French or Spanish would be very helpful. The salary will be £22,000 plus benefits.
